About Us

Navy Children School, Port Blair was commissioned on 15 July, 1996 to provide quality education to the children of the Defence Community in Port Blair. Initially the school was established with 105 students and six teachers with educational facilities up to Standard V. NCS, Port Blair was successful in getting Secondary School Affiliation in the year 2000. The school got Senior Secondary Affiliation in June 2007 and the first batch of Std XII passed out in 2009. Presently school is functioning up to Std XII (Science, Commerce and Humanities) with a total strength of 916 students and 46 teachers. Presently school functions in three wings as follows.

(a) Primary Wing (building no T-25) is located next to IDSC. Three divisions each of class I and II function here. The wing also has a Staff Room and Activity Room. The hard standing is provisioned with covered roofing for conduct of assemblies and other activities.

(b) Middle Wing (building no T-5 and T-6) is located near to INHS Dhanvantari in-living sailor’s accommodation. Two divisions each of class III, IV & V function here.


(c) Senior Wing or Main Wing is spread out mainly on top of the hillock located on the road connecting Command Swimming Pool from rear side of INHS Dhanvantari. The classrooms of senior classes, Principal’s office, Staff Room of senior class teachers, School office, Main activity hall, assembly area, e-learning centre, library, laboratories and basket ball court are all located here.
